What works here, and what does not yet.

01 Where we actually are

We build against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That is the target, not a badge we are claiming.

No outside firm has audited this site and there is no VPAT. Everything below was checked by us, on this store, on the date at the top of the page.

We would rather publish a short honest list than a long one you cannot rely on. If a line in the next section stops being true, it comes off this page.

02 What works today

• Every image carries an alt attribute. Photographs that mean something describe what they show. Images that are pure decoration carry an empty alt on purpose, so a screen reader skips them instead of reading out a filename.
• One heading structure per page. One h1, and the headings below it step down without skipping a level, so the heading list a screen reader builds is a usable outline of the page.
• A skip link comes first. The first thing the keyboard lands on jumps you past the header and straight into the content.
• Controls are real controls. Buttons are buttons, links are links, and the FAQ and spec panels are native disclosure elements. Enter and Space open them, and the browser's own find on page reaches the text inside a closed one.
• Focus is never taken away. Where we replace the browser outline we draw our own ring in its place, a three pixel blue halo, and we only ever do it for keyboard focus.
• Tab order follows the page. Nothing on the site uses a positive tabindex to jump the queue, and nothing focusable is hidden from assistive software while still being reachable by tab.
• Motion is yours to switch off. Turn on reduce motion in your operating system and the reveals stop, the scrolling strip of badges stops, the floating seal stops, and the background videos are removed rather than frozen.
• No video makes a sound. Video on this site is texture behind text. It is muted, it has no soundtrack, and it never starts audio you did not ask for.
• Small text is measured, not guessed. We check text colours against the surface they sit on, and we have already replaced one grey that failed on the pale blue background rather than leaving it there.
• It works narrow. Every page is built and measured at 390 pixels wide as well as at 1440, and checked again at 320, which is the width a page has to survive for the reflow rule. No page on this site scrolls sideways at any of the three.

03 Where it still falls short

• Software we do not own. The bundle picker on the product page, the cart, and the checkout are run by other companies. We can change the space around them. We cannot change their markup. If one of them stops you, tell us and we will both take it up with the vendor and find you another way to place the order.
• Colour beyond our own type. We pick and measure the colours in the sections we wrote. We have not gone through every colour the store theme paints outside them, like the cart drawer and the search panel.
• We have not tested with every screen reader. We test with the keyboard, with reduce motion switched on, and with browser zoom. We have not tested every page against every combination of screen reader and browser.
• No independent audit. Nobody outside this team has reviewed the site, and we are not going to imply otherwise.

04 Tell us what broke

Use the contact page. It is the fastest route to a person and nothing else is required of you.

It helps if you tell us the page you were on, what you were using, a phone or a computer, a browser, a screen reader if you use one, and what happened when it went wrong. Even one of those is enough to start.

A person reads it and answers, usually within one business day. You get one of two answers: what we changed, or when we are going to change it.

If you need what is on a page and the page is in your way, ask. We will send you the content in another format while we fix the page itself.

05 How we check before we publish

Every page is measured at 390 and at 1440 pixels before it goes live, and a full height screenshot of each one is looked at by a person.

We walk the page with the keyboard only, to see where focus goes and whether it ever disappears.

We load it once with reduce motion switched on, to confirm the page is still complete when the movement is gone.

We check the heading order and the alt text on the images that carry meaning.

This page is reviewed whenever the site changes enough to make one of its statements untrue.
